One of the most famous heritage listed structures and even sights in Victoria is the Bourne Creek Timber Trestle Bridge at Kilcunda, adjacent to the Bass Coast Highway and Bass Strait. The Bridge was built in 1911 to serve the development of Victoria’s Black Coal Industry in South Gippsland when coal deposits were mined from the State Coal Mine at Wonthaggi and Powlett Coal Fields, Kilcunda.
